Three Homepage Concepts Before Lunch
Here’s a feature most business owners haven’t discovered yet: you can ask your AI for a homepage mockup and get a rendered concept back in seconds. Not a description of a homepage. An actual visual you can look at, react to, and reshape by talking.
I ran a test recently with deliberately minimal instructions: give me a homepage mockup for my company. That’s it. Because my AI already knows my brand colors, my services, my voice, and my customers from working together, what came back was recognizably mine: right palette, right positioning, right offerings, arranged into a layout I could react to.
Iterate like you’re talking to a designer
The reaction is the point. You don’t need design vocabulary. You say what you’d say across a table: I like the six buttons at the bottom. The hero doesn’t grab me, try something bolder. Make the phone number bigger. Show me the stats inside the navy section instead. Each note gets you a fresh version in seconds.
Even better, ask for three concepts side by side and compare directions before you commit to one. That kind of exploration used to mean weeks of designer back-and-forth at hundreds of dollars a round. Now it’s a conversation you can finish before lunch, and you walk into any build, whether AI does it or a designer does, knowing exactly what you want.

From concept to real website
Once a direction clicks, two honest paths. If you’re a small operation, the AI can build the design as real pages on your site directly. If you’re a larger company with complicated services, resist the shortcut: have the design built properly as templated pages in your website platform, with the right blocks and structures. Then future updates are easy, because the AI can clone and edit those templates cleanly forever after.
Either way, the expensive, slow, frustrating part of web design, which was never the building but the deciding, just became the fast part.
- Ask: “Give me a homepage mockup for my company.” If your AI knows your business, that’s enough detail.
- Or ask for three concepts side by side and compare.
- React in plain words: what you like, what to change, what to try instead.
- Lock a direction before anyone builds anything.
- Small site? Build it direct. Bigger company? Build it as proper page templates the AI can clone later.
This post came out of a real conversation at the AI Essentials Roundtable, the small group I run for business owners who want to actually use AI instead of just reading about it. We meet every other week, screen-share real builds, and steal each other’s wins. If that sounds useful, details are here: tablelandpartners.com/ai_essentials_roundtable
